Avocado Yakitori

Fire-kissed skewers of avocado — smoky outside, juicy inside, gone in minutes. Ready in 27 minutes including prep.

Ingredients

  • Yogurt3 tbsp
  • Ginger3 cloves, crushed
  • Soy Sauce3 tbsp
  • White Pepper1 tsp
  • Sugar1 tbsp
  • Avocado3
  • Rice Vinegar1, juiced
  • Neutral Oil2 tbsp
  • Mirin3 tbsp

Optional extras

  • Shiso Leaveshandful, to finish

Instructions

    Whisk the yogurt, neutral oil, garlic, white pepper and rice vinegar juice into a marinade.

    Cut the avocado into even 3 cm chunks and coat well; marinate 30 minutes minimum.

    Thread onto skewers with a little space between pieces so the heat can circulate.

  4. 4

    Grill over high heat, turning every few minutes, until charred at the edges and cooked inside.

  5. 5

    Slide off the skewers, rest 3 minutes, and dust with shiso leaves.
