A non-vegetarian Indian dish in the spirit of Aurangabad cooking — Lahori Pomfret Pongal brings a lahori touch with a classic pongal finish. About 39 minutes from fridge to table.

Ingredients

  • Ginger Garlic Paste1 tbsp
  • Onion1, finely chopped
  • Coriander Powder1 tsp
  • Red Chili Powder1 tsp
  • White Fish450 g, fillets

Optional extras

  • Ghee1 tbsp
  • Curry Leaves1 sprig
  • Lemon1/2

Instructions

    Heat oil or ghee in a heavy kadhai over medium heat.

    Add cumin or mustard seeds and let them crackle.

    Saute onion until golden, then stir in ginger-garlic paste.

    Add tomatoes and powdered spices; cook until oil separates.

    Add the main ingredient with a splash of water; cover and simmer.

    Uncover, adjust salt and spice, and cook to the desired consistency.

    Finish with garam masala and fresh cilantro.

    Rest a minute, then serve hot.

Serve hot with roti, rice, or soft paratha.
