
Beef Steak Hash
High heat, big flavour: beef steak seared with aromatics and a shiny sauce that clings to every bite. 27 minutes of mostly hands-off cooking.
Ingredients
- Butter2 tbsp
- Saltto taste
- Garlic4 cloves, minced
- Potato4, diced
- Bell Pepper1, sliced
- Eggs4, fried
- Spring Onions3, cut into batons
- Beef Steak500 g
- Ketchup2 tbsp
- Smoked Paprika1 tsp

- Fresh Parsleyhandful, to finish
Instructions

Preheat a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat until it just starts to smoke; add the oil.

Season the Beef Steak generously on both sides and sear undisturbed until a deep crust forms, about three minutes.

Flip and add the butter, basting as it foams with Garlic for another two to three minutes.

Move the Beef Steak to a plate and soften Smoked Paprika in the pan drippings, scraping the crusty bits loose.

Deglaze with a splash of stock or water and reduce to a quick pan sauce, seasoning to taste.

Rest the Beef Steak, then serve smothered in the pan sauce with the buttery drippings pooled over.
Chef's tip
Let the dish rest 5 minutes off the heat before serving so the flavours settle.
