Chocolate Babka
Twisted chocolate babka with fudge rivers, the brunch loaf that trends forever. Rustic, crisp-edged and comforting — the dessert that empties the table quietly. Serve warm with cream, custard or a scoop of ice cream.
Ingredients
- Butter3 tbsp
- Salt1/2 tsp
- All-Purpose Flour2 cups
- Sugar2 tbsp
- Dark Chocolate2 cups, chopped
- Brown Sugar1/2 cup
- Active Dry Yeast2 tsp
Instructions
- 1
Work quickly with chilled butter so it stays in visible flakes through the dough.
- 2
Cut the cold butter through the flour, drizzle in ice water, and gather the dough without kneading.
- 3
Refrigerate the dough; cold dough rolls cleaner and bakes flakier.
- 4
Work the dark chocolate and butter into the dough, folding gently for even distribution.
- 5
Bake at 190 C / 375 F for 35-45 minutes until deeply golden and bubbling; cool before slicing so the filling sets.
