Banana Ice Cream Nice Cream
Frozen bananas blended into soft-serve, the one-ingredient miracle with additions. Intensely flavoured and smooth, better than the tubs at the store. Perfect over a warm brownie or alongside a slice of pie.
Ingredients
- Honey2 tbsp
- Salta pinch
- Milk1 litre
- Sugar1/2 cup
- Vanilla Extract1 tsp
- Peanut Butter1 cup, chopped
- Banana3, ripe and mashed
Instructions
- 1
If using an ice cream maker, freeze the bowl a full day ahead and chill the custard base overnight.
- 2
Stir the sugar with the honey until dissolved; the finished scoop should taste slightly too strong now.
- 3
Stir or blend the banana through the chilled base until smooth and evenly flavoured.
- 4
Churn in the ice cream maker until thick and soft-serve texture, 20-25 minutes.
- 5
Transfer to a container, press a sheet of parchment on the surface, and freeze four hours until scoopable.
Chef's tip
Room-temperature ingredients blend smoother — pull the dairy and eggs out of the fridge an hour ahead.
