Chocolate Crinkle Cookies
Crackled snow-top cookies — cocoa-rich centres under a sugar storm. Soft-centred and generous, the sort that vanishes warm off the tray. Sandwich two with a scoop of ice cream for an instant dessert upgrade.
Ingredients
- Butter1/2 cup, softened
- Salta pinch
- Eggs4
- Sugar1 tsp
- Baking Powder1/2 tsp
- Vanilla Extract1 tsp
- Dark Chocolate1 cup, chopped
- Cocoa Powder1/2 cup
Instructions
- 1
Heat the oven to 175 C / 350 F and line two trays with parchment.
- 2
Whisk the flour, dark chocolate and leavening together in a bowl so everything is evenly distributed.
- 3
Work the butter and sugar to a paste, add eggs, then bring the dough together with the dry ingredients.
- 4
Stir the cocoa powder through the dough until evenly studded.
- 5
Chill the dough twenty minutes, scoop, and bake until the edges are golden and centres soft.
Chef's tip
Chill the dough when the recipe says so; warm dough spreads into flat, greasy cookies.
